Adebisi Shank release new Single featuring Yvette Young

A decade after calling it quits, legendary Irish math-rock trio Adebisi Shank have made a triumphant and unexpected return. The band, revered for their electrifying instrumentals and relentless live performances, disbanded in September 2014. But in a surprise announcement exactly ten years later, they broke their silence with just four words: “New songs. New shows.”

By March 2025, Adebisi Shank delivered on that promise with the release of “Start A Band”, their first new material in over ten years. Alongside the single, they unveiled a string of UK and Ireland tour dates and revealed plans for a new EP, pointedly titled This is the Second EP of a Band Called Adebisi Shank, due out in summer 2025.

Today, they’ve shared another cut from the forthcoming EP: “Orange Splash”, a frenetic, gleaming track that features a guest appearance from Covet’s Yvette Young, whose unmistakable guitar work adds a vibrant new layer to the band’s already maximalist sound. “Yvette is the future of guitar,” the band said in a statement. “Massive respect and thanks to her for elevating the track with her incredible musicianship.”

Fans of the band’s exhilarating early work will feel right at home, but there’s a renewed clarity and confidence here too—proof that the time away hasn’t dulled their edge. With their comeback in full swing, anticipation is building for their live shows, which promise to reignite the chaotic energy that made them cult heroes throughout the 2000s and early 2010s.

Adebisi Shank will return to the stage this August, including a headline slot at ArcTanGent Festival. The full list of tour dates is below:
