Amid the sun-soaked fields 2000trees Festival, we caught up with one of the UK’s most exciting alt-rock trios: Blank Atlas. Known for their infectious harmonies, driving rhythms, and explosive live energy, the Bristol-based band brought their signature sound to the Word Stage and left the crowd buzzing. We caught up with the guys to chat about their festival experience and whats on the horizon for the remainder of 2025.
You’ve just performed at 2000 trees festival how was it for you guys?
So good, it was super rowdy with lots of singalongs which was everything we hoped it would be! I think we all agreed after the set that it was the best gig we’ve ever done.
Was there a particular moment during your set that really stood out to you?
I think seeing the amount of people that had come back after seeing us last year, and hearing them belting out the lyrics. Also it was wild seeing crowdsurfers coming over the barrier, which we’ve never had before.
How does the energy at 2000 Trees compare to other festivals you’ve played?
I feel like a majority of our fanbase are the type of people that would go to Trees. So naturally, there’s already a bunch of people already at the festival who will wanna watch us, which is so lovely. And that makes the atmosphere super special seeing everyone all together!
Did you get a chance to check out any other bands on the lineup? Any favourites?
Yeah for sure, obviously we saw Unpeople who were excellent as always, saw The Xcerts play a silent disco set which was very novel, was also super impressed with Terminals’ set who had our early Neu Stage slot from last year!
What’s one thing fans wouldn’t expect about the behind-the-scenes of your festival day?
It’s mostly us doing some interviews and also trying to sneak in some Guffcasts with other bands along the way… we were also having lots of tasty foods like at Bunnymans and the Paellarea!
Are there any new releases, collaborations, or tours coming up that you’re excited about?
Yes! We just announced that we’re touring the UK + Ireland in November with our pals in The Last Vinci which is gonna be a blast! Known those guys for many years but I don’t think we’ve ever played together so that’s gonna be special.
Where would you like to see the band a year from now — festivals, tours, or something totally different?
Hopefully with another album in the can, ready to go! Been hard at work behind the scenes writing and recording some stuff, still got a long way to go but we’re super excited with what we’ve written so far. Watch this space!
