CLUTCH TO PERFORM SELF-TITLED ALBUM IN FULL ON TOUR IN 2025

Groove rock veterans Clutch have been refining their distinctive sound since forming in 1991. By the time they released their second album, the self-titled Clutch in 1995, the band began experimenting beyond their bluesy stoner roots, weaving in elements of funk and psychedelic flair. That album signalled a turning point, bridging their heavy riffs with the communal spirit of jam-heavy acts like The Grateful Dead, Rush, and The Allman Brothers. Much like those iconic bands, Clutch’s die-hard fans come for more than just the music—they come for the shared experience, a sense of belonging that transforms every show into something singular.

Hailing from Seneca Valley High School in Maryland, long-time friends Neil Fallon (vocals), Tim Sult (guitar), Dan Maines (bass), and Jean-Paul Gaster (drums) share a creative bond that’s endured over three decades. Growing up in the same fertile DIY scene that spawned Bad Brains and Minor Threat, Clutch’s signature sound blends hardcore edge with a freewheeling, literary wit—equal parts fuzzed-out power and storytelling finesse.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Clutch, the band has announced an expansive European and North American tour in 2025. For the first time ever, they’ll perform the album in full, in sequence, accompanied by production and stage design tailored to recreate the energy and atmosphere of the era.

Originally released via Atlantic Records in May 1995, Clutch propelled the band into the mainstream with three beloved singles: the swaggering opener “Big News,” the cosmic, cult-favourite “Spacegrass,” and the raucous “Escape From The Prison Planet.” The record marked a pivotal moment in stoner rock history, and now fans will have a chance to revisit its enduring legacy.

As part of the celebration, Clutch’s label, Weathermaker Music, plans to reissue the album on 180-gram vinyl in 2025. While full details of the release are still under wraps, the promise of hearing this classic in a lush new format is sure to excite fans old and new.

For Clutch devotees, this isn’t just a tour—it’s an invitation to relive the groove, grit, and magic that’s defined the band for three decades.
