Rising UK post-metalers Dimscûa have signed to Big Scary Monsters and have announced the long awaited physical release of their critically acclaimed debut LP ‘Dust Eater‘. The vinyl will be released on February 20th and is available to pre-order now: https://orcd.co/dimscua
For a band whose music leans into pulverising distortion, funeral atmosphere and a kind of scorched-earth emotional clarity, pairing with Big Scary Monsters might seem unexpected on paper. But Dimscûa describe the partnership as a rare instance of a label placing genuine trust in a project this heavy. “The album is a lot heavier than your typical BSM release, so we can’t thank Josie and Kev enough for trusting us,” the band say. “BSM are such a deep-rooted part of the UK independent scene; we’ve admired them for years, so joining their roster feels special.”
Dust Eater wasn’t supposed to travel far. Dimscûa’s original plan was to upload it to Bandcamp, close the laptop and move on and reflects the humility of musicians who weren’t expecting an outpouring of connection. Instead, the record struck a nerve. Listeners across the heavy and experimental spectrum gravitated toward its mix of tectonic riffs and raw-throated vulnerability, and word spread quickly.
Now, with Dust Eater finally receiving a physical edition and the band already sketching out a second LP for 2026, Dimscûa seem poised for a breakout that remains entirely on their own terms. Their music is a reminder that volume can be a vessel for something more vulnerable – and that, every so often, out of the heaviest grief emerges the most resonant art.
That groundswell culminated in a rapid series of milestones: an invitation to make their live debut at ArcTanGent 2025, where they played to a packed 3,000-capacity tent; a follow-up appearance at Damnation 2025, filling a 2,000-cap room by their third ever show; and a growing chorus of fans positioning Dimscûa among the UK’s most compelling new heavy acts.
