Nottingham-based multi-instrumentalist, producer, and performer familyfriend. has just released his debut single, “Head Out.” The track is a powerful introduction to the budding young artist, showcasing his genre-blurring sound that’s both explosive and meticulously crafted. It’s a bold statement from an artist unafraid to push his boundaries.

With roots in the avant-garde indie trio Febueder, familyfriend. brings a wealth of experience to his solo project, weaving a vibrant sonic tapestry that’s as nostalgic as it is forward-thinking. His self-taught prowess on guitar, bass, piano, and production adds a raw, DIY edge to his music, creating a thrilling contrast with his sharp pop sensibilities.

Drawing inspiration from the haunting melodies of Nick Drake and Elliott Smith to the abrasive electronics of Aphex Twin and Squarepusher, familyfriend. stands out as a unique force in the indie-pop landscape. His sound is unshackled by genre constraints, seamlessly blending intimate lyrics, grating synth basses, and searing 80s-style guitar solos.

Keep an ear out because familyfriend. is just getting started.
