On “Hi, Whatever,” Nottingham’s familyfriend. turns burnout into a kind of anthem. The first single taken from the upcoming EP evolver which was written and recorded in just a week and buzzes with that restless, end-of-your-rope energy. Over warped synths and a lo-fi pulse, familyfriend. shrugs at the grind of capitalism with dry humour and quiet defiance.

It’s a song that captures the feeling of being fed up but still showing up, a weary wave to another day in the machine.

You can catch familyfriend. live at Brewdog on Sunday 19th October as part of the Hockley Hustle festival 2025
