Finnish instrumental duo NYOS have unveiled “Superstar,” the latest glimpse into their forthcoming album Growl, due out on the 10th October via Pelagic Records. The track arrives with a video assembled from footage shot during the band’s travels in Vietnam, manipulated into a kaleidoscopic visual narrative by Pietu Pietiäinen.
NYOS comment on ‘Superstar’: “‘Superstar’ was the working title for the record for a long time (before Growl took over and felt way more fitting) – but it became attached to this song regardless, and we’re excited to release this one as the 2nd single from the album. This one came out super fast during a really fun rehearsal/writing session (during which 4 out of the 9 songs from the record basically came out fully formed all at once) and just instantly felt like a late summer single, so things just worked out perfect – we took a band holiday to Vietnam instead of doing a spring tour this year, and filmed some footage with the idea that it could be the material for our friend Pietu to manipulate into a music video for the song – he absolutely nailed it and we’re thrilled to finally be able to share it… hope you all enjoy it!”
Comprised of guitarist Tom Brooke and drummer Tuomas Kainulainen, NYOS have become a fixture of Europe’s experimental underground since their formation in 2014. Known for physically unrelenting live shows, the duo’s music thrives on loop-driven structures, shifting rhythmic patterns, and an immediacy that balances density with momentum.
