On the 13th September New York City-based band Hello Mary will release their new album, Emita Ox, through Frenchkiss Records. The album delves deeper into heavy distortion and psychedelic dreamscapes, further expanding the band’s distinctive universe of bold, virtuosic alt-rock. Co-produced by the band and Alex Farrar (known for his work with MJ Lenderman, Indigo De Souza, Wednesday, and Snail Mail) in Asheville, NC, this LP marks a significant evolution in their sound.

As a preview of the album, Hello Mary have today dropped their latest single, “Down My Life.” According to Helena Straight, the song was inspired by “one of the saddest experiences” of her life, and it showcases her ethereal vocals layered over a warped piano and ominous bass.
