For over a decade, Hemelbestormer have carved out a space entirely their own in the dense landscape of heavy music. The Belgian quartet—formed by stalwarts of the nation’s hardcore and metal underground—return this summer with The Radiant Veil, their fourth full-length, arriving on the 25th July via Pelagic Records. Today, they’ve unveiled the record’s centrepiece, a sweeping, slow-burning track titled “Turms” which features a rare guest appearance by Philip Jamieson of Caspian.
Hemelbestormer have long operated at the crossroads of post-rock atmospherics, doomgaze textures, and the cold fury of black metal. Their compositions stretch far beyond conventional structures, leaning into tension and release with a deliberate, almost architectural patience. Built on a foundation of towering riffs and intricate layering, their music evokes a sense of scale that’s both intimate and vast.
“’Turms’ is without a doubt the leading track and beating heart of the album,” the band shares. “Hemelbestormer is known as a pure instrumental band, but this track will surprise you, as Phil from Caspian did some phenomenal and hauntingly beautiful sounding vocals for this track, lifting it to another level.“
