mclusky share “chekhov’s guns”

Exciting news for fans of the Welsh post-punk band mclusky: the group have dropped a new single, “Chekhov’s Guns” alongside a video directed by Remy Lamont. The track arrives ahead of the band’s first album in two decades, The World Is Still Here and So Are We, out May 9th via Ipecac Recordings.

“Chekhov’s Guns” follows the release of previous singles “People Person” and “Way of the Exploding Dickhead” both accompanied by their own visuals. The upcoming album marks a major return for the band, who have been quiet on the studio front since their 2004 LP Mclusky Do Dallas.

Commenting on the new song, frontman Andrew Falco notes, “‘Chekhov’s Guns’ is a song about getting to the point, which is something I’m forever trying to get better at. Also, death. All art is about death. Even Bluey.”

Check out the new track and video, and stay tuned for the full album release next month.
