In the heart of the Gloucestershire countryside, 2000trees Festival once again delivered a weekend of blistering energy, raucous riffs, and raw talent — and right in the thick of it was the ferocious Norwich-based trio, Other Half. Known for their biting lyrics, explosive live shows, and no-holds-barred approach to post-hardcore, the band have quickly become a standout name on the UK underground scene.
We caught up with the DIY punks following their set and here’s what went down….
1. You’ve just performed at 2000 trees festival again this year how was it for you guys?
Pretty fab, thanks! It was a real joy to invited back again for the Wednesday, but we weren’t exactly sure how we’d slot in with the Trees Ultras that frequent the extra day. Pleased to report I don’t think we ruined too many people’s days.
2. Was there a particular moment during your set that really stood out to you?
When I very embarrassingly asked the crowd for some NRG.

3. How does the energy at 2000 Trees compare to other festivals you’ve played?
The previously mentioned NRG is pretty wild considering the festival starts at 11am everyday, and it was 34 degrees the whole time. Great commitment to mosh all-round.
4. Did you get a chance to check out any other bands on the lineup? Any favourites?
Yeah! Was really superb seeing our little mates in Grieving, who have cruelly denied everyone a live show for 6 years, even though they are literally the best band on earth. Also really loved getting to see bands I never saw the first time round, like Mclusky and Million Dead, and new discoveries like Keg, Rifle and Civic.
5. What’s one thing fans wouldn’t expect about the behind-the-scenes of your festival day?
By now, how we spend our days is pretty well documented. A lot of time spent on portaloos, a lot of time spent going back to the Berlingo and blasting the AC (sorry environment), and a lot of pacing between stages because Alfie doesn’t like sitting down.
6. Are there any new releases, collaborations, or tours that you have coming up that you’re excited about?
We’ve got another standalone single that we need to put into the ether soon, which you’ve reminded me about, ta. We’ve also got a show in Ireland coming up with our best mates in Problem Patterns but then it’s all quiet on the Other Half front whilst we write the 4th record.

7. Where would you like to see the band a year from now — festivals, tours, or something totally different?
Will be glad to just still be here. Ya can’t wish for much when you’ve been doing it for 12 years. Long live the Half.
