Poly-Math unveil the new single “The Universe As An Engine”

Poly-Math re-emerge with “The Universe As An Engine” a bold introduction to their upcoming album Something Deeply Hidden. The single signals a turning point for the band serving as one of their first projects largely recorded in-house.

Rather than revisiting the tightly mapped-out frameworks of their earlier releases, the new material stretches outward, leaning into fluid arrangements, exploratory solo sections, and rhythm-forward compositions that give the percussion room to breathe and evolve. The result feels looser, more immersive, and unapologetically expansive.

The track was mixed by Mark Roberts and mastered by Chris Muth.

Joe Branton reveals: “We always love writing with complex rhythmic structures. ‘The Universe As An Engine’ really felt like a statement of intent on this record. Plus, we love how each section is wildly different, the track almost feels like a medley from the Poly-Math riff toolkit, I think we all just loved that about it. We hope it’s as fun to listen to as it is to play!”

Poly-Math will play for us at The Carousel in Nottingham on the 21st May 2026 and tickets are available from wegottickets
