Post-hardcore punks Other Half release hot-blooded self-diss track ‘Transgression is Outdated’

Norwich’s finest punks Other Half are back with brand new single Transgression is Outdated, out now via Big Scary Monsters. Never ones to shy away from complete self deprecation, the track is a cowardly diss track, directed at both the reformed versions of bands they once loved, and more pertinently, Other Half.

“The former, not naming any names, being the reanimated corpses of bands that once used to deal in bristling intensity and caustic joy, that now seem happy peddling a toothless, dead-eyed version of their former selves, and the latter, us, fearing we might just be doing exactly the same thing (minus the 20 year break-up/any kind of previous success),”says vocalist Cal.

It’s perhaps the most hot-blooded Other Half have ever sounded; nasty, urgent choruses, butting heads with satirical, slurry verses, all building up to a full minute of pure Breeders-esc worship.

“I think it might just be my favourite bit of music we’ve ever committed to bandwidth.” laughs Cal. “I’d like to point out here, the Breeders are not one of those bands I alluded to earlier, but they might share some past DNA with a band I did mean”
