Pupil Slicer reveal new single ‘Nomad’

UK mathcore dissonants Pupil Slicer have released “Nomad”, the latest track to surface from their forthcoming album Fleshwork, due for release on the 7th November via Prosthetic Records.

The single continues to expand on the album’s abrasive and industrially scarred landscape, a backdrop through which the band confronts the social systems that strip humanity from the poor, disabled, queer communities, and people of colour for political and financial gain. Fleshwork has been described by the group as “conceptual” rather than a concept album, positioning itself as an immersive environment rather than a linear narrative.

At the centre of that vision is vocalist and guitarist Kate Davies, who channels both personal experience and political urgency into stark meditations on daily survival. On “Nomad,” Davies explains:

“‘Nomad’ is about living in a post-truth society where people are locked inside echo chambers, falling into massive conspiracies, and reducing others to something less than human. It’s about the naivety of the masses in the face of leaders who are malevolent and self-serving, and the struggle to endure in a world where lies are enough to justify countless deaths. No one is truly safe, apart from those making the rules, while the internet becomes a wasteland of disinformation and bad faith.”
