REZN release new single ‘Rites Of Passage’

Acclaimed Chicago experimental rock outfit REZN have released “Rites of Passage,” the latest single and accompanying video from their forthcoming album, Cycles in the Infinite Dream, set for release on 24th July via Sargent House.

“Rites of Passage” showcases the band’s signature balance of immersive atmosphere and crushing heaviness. The track opens with expansive, Tangerine Dream-inspired synth textures crafted by multi-instrumentalist Spencer Ouellette before building into a towering wall of sound driven by Rob McWilliams’ weighty guitar work, Phil Cangelosi’s resonant bass lines, and Patrick Dunn’s powerful drum performance.

The result is a dynamic and cinematic composition that satisfies both a primal appetite for massive riffs and a deep appreciation for depth and detail.

“We wanted to go for a barreling, rolling feel between the rhythm and lead, so this one felt perfect for emphasizing those elements while giving you a glimpse into the rest of the album,” says guitarist Rob McWilliams. “The end payoff is the epitome of that feeling, just letting it ride with a thousand-pound drone to send you off on the journey.”

As a preview of Cycles in the Infinite Dream, “Rites of Passage” offers listeners a compelling introduction to the album’s expansive sonic landscape, blending hypnotic psychedelia, crushing heaviness, and immersive atmosphere into a singular listening experience.

Cycles in the Infinite Dream arrives 24th July via Sargent House.
