Tether announce debut EP “Mirror Work”

London’s emerging post-hardcore outfit Tether are thrilled to unveil their debut EP, “Mirror Work” slated for release on 21st June 2024 this EP promises to be a testament to their musical evolution.

In anticipation of the EP launch, the band is treating fans to the lead single, “Straight With Me” which is out now on all streaming platforms.

Exploring themes of camaraderie and the challenges of life on the road, frontman Justin delves into the complexities of band dynamics in “Straight With Me.” Reflecting on the intricacies of relationships within the group, he likens being in a band to a marriage, acknowledging the inevitable conflicts and compromises involved in pursuing a shared vision.

Drawing inspiration from genre heavyweights like Every Time I Die, letlive, Poison The Well, and Alexisonfire, Tether’s sound ventures into both the darkest and brightest corners of modern existence.  Since their formation in 2018, they’ve carved a niche for themselves in London’s underground scene, sharing stages with esteemed acts such as Hawthorne Heights, Loathe, and Blood Youth.

“I think writing this song reflected and summed up all the frustrations that band members have, and also have with each other. I say this all the time, ‘being in a band is like being in a marriage.’ You’re coupled up, sometimes realising that you’ve now found incompatibilities, but then sometimes you’re too far in to quit. The frustration of being in a long term situation you love, with people you love, where you sometimes don’t see eye to eye. Trying to keep your mouth shut to appease others, but hold back and bite your tongue to avoid a build of tension.”

Their journey gained momentum with the release of “The Deciders” in February 2023, which received acclaim as BBC Radio 1 Introducing Rock’s Track of the Week. Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, Tether have continued to captivate audiences with their electrifying live performances, culminating in headline slots at Lume Fest and support gigs for renowned acts like Cancer Bats and Don’t Try.

Don’t miss the debut EP “Mirror Work” from Tether dropping on 21st June 2024, and catch them live at The Fighting Cocks in Kingston on April 26th and The Black Heart in Camden on June 27th.
