Since forming in Chicago in 1987, The Jesus Lizard has captivated audiences worldwide. The band’s dynamic rhythm section, driven by bassist David Wm. Sims and drummer Mac McNeilly, provided the perfect foundation for Duane Denison’s sharp, clean-toned riffs and David Yow’s unpredictable vocals, which ranged from a frantic citizen to a disillusioned escapee or even a wounded sea creature. Their relentless energy has been showcased across six studio albums, two live recordings, and numerous singles and EPs. Now, with their seventh album Rack released via Ipecac Recordings, the band continues their sonic assault.

To mark the release of their first full-length in 26 years, and ahead of their upcoming North American, UK, and Ireland tour, The Jesus Lizard have dropped the standalone single “Cost of Living” a non-album track that adds another layer to their fiery catalogue

About the track, David Yow comments;

“Simply because I wrote the words to “Cost of Living” doesn’t mean that I know exactly what it’s about. I think it has to do with the dread and self-loathing that addicts experience on a very regular basis. You can pick whichever type of addict you choose.”
