The Shania Twainsaw Massacre Release ‘Dog-Friendly Bone Museum’ From Their Sophomore EP ‘Horsemaning’

Since the release of their dark and emotionally charged debut EP Denature in December 2024, The Shania Twainsaw Massacre have steadily established themselves as one of the most distinctive voices emerging from Bristol’s thriving music scene.

Now, the band return with their sophomore EP, Horsemaning, due for release on Friday 21st August 2026, alongside their debut headline show at Exchange, Bristol.

The first taste of the EP comes in the form of lead single Dog-Friendly Bone Museum, out Friday 12th July. Exploring themes of anxiety, dread, and the persistent feeling that something bad is about to happen, the track captures the frustration of feeling in the way.

Drawing on cartoonish imagery of removing a bone from a skeleton, only for the whole thing to collapse, alongside the chaos implied by the phrase “a bull in a china shop”, Dog-Friendly Bone Museum feels like both a cry for help and a moment of self-directed frustration. Sonically, the track takes inspiration from the emotionally raw textures of Sunny Day Real Estate and Hum, while continuing to shape the band’s own increasingly recognisable sound.

As with their debut release, the EP was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Rowan Deverson, whose work has become integral to the band’s evolving identity.

With Dog-Friendly Bone Museum and Horsemaning, The Shania Twainsaw Massacre continue to prove they are far more than just a memorable (and silly!) name.
