Fresh from their electric set at 2000trees Festival, we caught up with alt-rock outfit Youth Killed It to talk festival magic, Phil Collins warm-ups, and what’s next for the band. From packed tents to dream lineups, here’s what they had to say about their unforgettable Trees debut.

It was an absolute dream. It felt like a coming-of-age moment, something we’ve wanted to do for so long, and it just happened to be the most magical set to date. We honestly can’t find the words to explain how much we enjoyed it!

Honestly, walking out to a packed tent was incredibly humbling. Our followers have been asking us to play the festival for so long, and we just didn’t know what to expect. Our day-one legends were down the front singing every word, and it felt like other people took a chance on us too. That was so special. For people to choose to come and watch you at 11:30am, when other amazing acts are playing at the same time, is a really an incredible feeling.

It’s a music lovers’ festival. Everyone’s there to have a great time and to watch music. Because of that, the energy is incredible: friendly, welcoming, and inclusive to all artists and people. Our favourite festival to date.

We did! We absolutely loved Kid Kapichi’s two sets, Kneecap destroying the main stage, SNAYX bringing the energy, Pvris being the tightest musical band ever, DZ Deathrays being amazing, The Meffs smashing it – and many more!

We exclusively warm up to the belting voice of Phil Collins. We play his tunes loud, and we play them proud.

We’re currently in the process of releasing a double EP (part 1 and part 2), which will make up one physical release over the next six months. The second single drops next month and we can’t wait for people to hear it!

We have a few one-off shows coming up including Rock & Roll Circus and then we are looking at touring April/May next year!

We’ve got a lot of big plans for next year and want to try and be everywhere. Hopefully, with a bit of luck and a lot of hard work, we’ll be in a town near you in 2026, including some European cities & festivals. Slam Dunk, Reading & Leeds would be the dream!
