As the eagerly anticipated 2000Trees Festival quickly approaches, we took the opportunity to connect with some of the bands gracing this year’s lineup. This renowned festival, held at the picturesque Upcote Farm, is celebrated for its eclectic mix of emerging and established artists, creating an immersive experience for music lovers.
We caught up with Employed To Serve and Tarmac ahead of their sets this weekend, ETS will play The Main Stage on Saturday at 15:00 and Tarmac play the Neu Stage on Saturday at 14:30

- What are you most excited for at 2000 trees?
Employed to Serve : Stoked to be playing the main stage for the first time, I also just love the vibe of the fest.
Tarmac : We’ve hired a VW camper thing so that’s gonna be wicked. Playing a big stage is gonna be a madness in front of god knows how many peeps. showcasing some fresh merch we designed ourselves, and of course hanging out with the TARMAC fam.
- What can people expect from your set?
Employed to Serve : Lot’s of new tracks, some fun ones from our back catalogue and walls of death!
Tarmac : 30 minutes of durgy noisy garage punk
- Which bands are you most excited to see over the weekend?
Employed to Serve : I’m really excited to watch Alexisonfire and Calva Louise, we’re only at the festival for a day sadly as there are many more I’d love to watch!
Tarmac : In no particular order: Cloud Nothings. Humour. Mclusky. THANK. Future of the Left.
- Are there any upcoming bands from your area that people should be checking out?
Employed to Serve : There aren’t many coming out of Woking specifically, but I always recommend checking out any of the bands we release on our label – Church Road Records.
Tarmac : Our fave local stage pals in no order: Dead Mammals, The Sleepers, Coder, Grungers, TRAPS, Jrugs, Upcdownc, Punching Swans. The list goes on…
- What are your plans for the rest of the year?
Employed to Serve : We’re going to be supporting Killswitch Engage throughout the whole of Europe, we can’t wait!
Tarmac : We’re working on our debut album due to be released later this year. We’re also playing a few cool gigs. A couple of European fezzies (Zero for Three, NL. Helldorado), Rebellion Fest in Blackpool and a cool local one that’s in the works. Good times man
- What are your festival essentials?
Employed to Serve : Hydration tablets and strong band tee choices :o)
Tarmac : Hmmmm. DW stuff, somewhere to sleep, beer, water, and a seat
