2000 Trees with Frontierer & Hamartia

The wait is over—2000Trees Festival has officially opened its gates, welcoming music lovers from across the country to the stunning Upcote Farm for another unforgettable edition. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and expertly curated lineup, 2000Trees brings together a thrilling blend of rising stars and iconic acts, offering a one-of-a-kind experience for fans of alternative music.

As the festival kicks into gear, we took the chance to catch up with two of the bands set to ignite the stage this weekend—Frontierer and Hamartia. Frontierer are set to unleash their explosive sound at The Cave on Friday at 19:20, while Hamartia will bring their unique energy to the VIP Stage at 00:30 on Thursday night.

We chatted with both bands about their festival must-haves, what they’re most excited for at this year’s event, and what the rest of 2025 holds for them.

Fronterier : Honestly? The chaos. The lineup is so diverse and we’ve been wanting to play this festival for quite a while. We’re really looking forward to tearing the crowd apart and just having a great time.

Hamartia : 2000trees for us is about finding underground bands, and hanging out with our bffs. So many bands we’re buzzing to see this year. James’ favourite band is Alexisonfire so as you can imagine, he’s on the verge of tears in excitement.

Fronterier : Zero compromise, zero pleasantries, and 100% confrontation.

Hamartia : We’re playing an acoustic set of all of our golden oldies and some unreleased music we’re super excited to test out! It’s our most intimate performance in years, so naturally we’re excited and nervous. Looking forward to having a singalong.

Fronterier : Due to timings, we’re gutted we won’t be able to see Coheed and Cambria. We might catch a few seconds of them during the rare moments of silence in our set..fingers crossed.

Hamartia : There are so many bands! Love Rarely, Blank Atlas, Failstate, EVILLE, Vower and a special mention to Lake Malice who have incorporated dancers into their performance. That’s going to be super fun!

Fronterier : There’s lots brewing in Scotland beyond the typical scenes. Calum, our former bassist, is now playing in a band called Codespeaker. They’re really cool and playing ArcTanGent this year, so definitely check them out. I mixed both their albums (Ped). Also, Party Cannon.

Hamartia : Blank Atlas, CHROMA, Failstate. So proud of our bffs in Blank Atlas, they’re smashing it and it’s been such a pleasure to share a stage with them over the years.

Fronterier : Playing ArcTanGent in August, headlining the Bixler stage on the Friday which should be fun. Then performing at .Core festival in Glasgow alongside bands such as Cave In. It’s all go with new music at the moment. Our next release will be available in 2026.

Hamartia : Our plans are writing and recording for an EP! We’re about halfway there. Expect themes of grief, sadness and loss – proper cheery – all topped off with a nice catchy melody.

Fronterier : Each Other

Hamartia : Sophie is the most equipped for this question and she said: fan, electrolytes, lots of snacks and suncream also airbed- that’s a game changer.
