2000trees Festival have unveiled a further 35 new bands for its eagerly awaited 2025 line-up, with this year’s edition now officially recognised as the Best Medium Festival, having won the prestigious accolade three years in a row at the UK Festival Awards.
Making a return for the second consecutive year, Hot Milk will headline the festival’s opening Wednesday night. Known for their electrifying live performances, the band from the North are eager to bring their rebel-rousing sound back to the 2000trees stage. “Last year we headlined and it went off, it felt so special. We wanted to come back and do it again. Wednesday night, you are ours and we are yours. Let’s be f***in’ havin’ ya,” says Han Mee of Hot Milk.
Scotland’s alt-rock powerhouse, Twin Atlantic, will take to the second stage on Thursday night, fresh from the release of their self-released album Meltdown. The band’s massive sound will fill The Axiom, with frontman Sam McTrusty reflecting on their long-standing relationship with the festival. “We are so proud of our relationship with 2000trees having played so many times over the years. Watching the festival grow into something that connects with rock and alternative music fans in such a personal way is brilliant. We always feel like we give it a bit extra when we play there and can’t wait to smash it with the ever-growing community this summer,” McTrusty says.
The much-anticipated return of Puppy will be another highlight, marking their first festival performance since 2022. “We are very excited to be back playing 2000trees. This was the first UK festival we played as a band, and they’ve been kind (or stupid) enough to have put us on many times since. Hopefully, we still remember how to play the songs,” quips vocalist Jock Norton.
Festival regular Frank Turner will perform a special solo set, playing his critically acclaimed second album Love Ire & Song in full on the Forest Stage. Turner, who has become a beloved figure at 2000trees over the years, promises an unforgettable evening. “Trees has been a home away from home for me since the early days, so I thought we could celebrate that together with a rendition of Love Ire & Song in full. I think it’s going to be magic; see you there,” Turner says.
Other acts announced today include Australian punk band Press Club (festival exclusive), La Dispute performing a second special set in the forest, British rockers The Hunna, Brazilian feminist punk artist Karen Dió, post-punk legends Mclusky, Australian solo act Hevenshe (Jenna from Tonight Alive) performing her first-ever UK solo show, and many more.
