2000Trees with Other Half & CLT DRP

As the eagerly anticipated 2000Trees Festival draws near, we took the opportunity to connect with some of the bands gracing this year’s lineup. This renowned festival, held at the picturesque Upcote Farm, is celebrated for its eclectic mix of emerging and established artists, creating an immersive experience for music lovers.

In part one we caught up with Other Half and CLT DRP, two bands set to ignite the NEU STAGE on Friday. We discussed their festival essentials, what they’re most looking forward to, and their plans for the rest of 2024.

What are you most excited for at 2000 trees?

Other Half: Being in a big field, with lots of little mates, watching Problem Patterns, Empire State Bastard and Los Campesinos.

CLT DRP: Enola Gay, Naked Lungs, Other Half, Problem Patterns, Gouge Away & PEACH. We like the underdogs!

What can people expect from your set?

Other Half: The usual; lots of fluffed notes and shit-eating grins but maybe with new songs and some super secret special guests.

CLT DRP: People can expect big energy – bigger the stage more space to run around you know?

Are there any bands from your area that people should be checking out?

Other Half: Kulk, Josh Read, Reno Dakota, Feasts, Suds, Cassus, Grieving and little Martin Newell AKA Cleaners From Venus from down the road in Winvenhoe

CLT DRP: Brighton’s pretty saturated with amazing bands – there obviously some big ones but we like to focus on the acts that should get more attention: Plastics, Leibniz, congratulations, Jar of Blind Flies, Other Half, Route 500.. Are just a few names that come to mind off the top of my head.

What are your plans for the rest of the year?

Other Half: Our tour with Single Mothers just got postponed (boohoo), so hopefully sorting some news dates for that but we’ve also got some little headline jaunts coming up, one of which we announced this week (JT Soar, Nottingham on 30th August). Also popping back to Sick Room Studios to finish a few more new songs, ‘cos the rock don’t stop.

CLT DRP: We are writing & trying to demo for album number 3… so look out for that whenever it happens haha. In the meantime just trying to play good shows.

What are your festival essentials?

Other Half: I actually forgot to bring deodorant to Glastonbury and woke myself up on multiple occasions because I smelt so bad, so definitely deodorant. I dunno, trusted friends and wet bog roll? Awful for the environment, but sometimes my arse deserves a treat.

CLT DRP: A good tent, water bottle, crocs, rain poncho idk it’s been a while since I camped but the water bottle saved me at Boomtown last year from dehydration so that was nice.

2000trees takes place at Upcote Farm in Cheltenham from July 10 – 13.  Get tickets HERE
