2000Trees with Blank Atlas & Shelf Lives

As the eagerly anticipated 2000Trees Festival draws near, we took the opportunity to connect with some of the bands gracing this year’s lineup. This renowned festival, held at the picturesque Upcote Farm, is celebrated for its eclectic mix of emerging and established artists, creating an immersive experience for music lovers.

In part two we catch up with Blank Atlas and Shelf Lives who both play the NEU Stage this Thursday

What are you most excited for at 2000 trees?

Blank Atlas : Getting to play our favourite festival is definitely what we’re excited for the most. (10:30am – Thursday – Neu Stage) Also the food! Daniel has a profound love for Bunnymans Bunny Chow – more specially the bread inners! Will definitely be getting in on some of that at Trees this year!

Shelf Lives : Seeing Bob Vylan beat some people up backstage.

What can people expect from your set?

Blank Atlas : All of the sad boi bangers, plenty of riffs and lots of harmonies! I feel like the majority of our fanbase are Trees goers so it’s gonna be really nice seeing all the familiar faces we’ve come across at gigs over the years!

Shelf Lives : Pure high class capitalist songwriting , add some fun, and a little aggression.

Any bands from your area that people should be checking out?

Blank Atlas : Plenty of great Bristol bands playing Trees this year! Should definitely check out Knives, Split Chain, IDestroy if you can!

Shelf Lives : Not from our area but excited to see Enola Gay, also Dead Pony. Sabrina is from Toronto… so I guess DFA 1979 is a local band 😉 Will be great to catch up with some we’ve played with before as well like Snayx, panic shack, slotface, mould, snake eyes, carsick, clt drp

What are your plans for the rest of the year?

Blank Atlas : More gigs and another single released hopefully! Playing Burn It Down Festival in August and will be announcing some shows for later on in the year!

Shelf Lives : We have a new single out on the 18th of July. We are playing a few festivals at the end of the month including Y NOT & Kendall Calling, Green Man & Boomtown. We are constantly making new stuff. But most importantly we play our headline show in London on October 23rd to celebrate our new EP

What are your festival essentials?

Blank Atlas : Tends to be really hot at Trees so definitely bring some protection from the Sun! We would recommend the all new BLANK ATLAS HAT ™️ available from blankatlas.co.uk

Shelf Lives : A small utility bag, AG1 , apple cider vinegar, boots and zero fucks
