Irish mathrockers Adebisi Shank make a triumphant return this St. Patrick’s Day with brand new single, “Start a Band” and it comes with all the explosive energy that originally made them a staple in the math rock scene. Known for their high-octane, glitchy guitars, frenetic rhythms, and Vinny’s signature bass tone, the track is a perfect reminder of why they captured the hearts of fans worldwide. “Start a Band” is just the tip of the iceberg, and if the rest of their upcoming material is anything like this, we’re in for a wild ride.
The band, which originally formed in 2006 in Wexford, Ireland, quickly became a defining force in the math rock genre with their distinctive blend of post-rock, progressive elements, and experimental soundscapes. Their previous albums were critically acclaimed for their innovation and boundary-pushing approach to music. After a long hiatus, the recently reformed Adebisi Shank are back though and fans couldn’t be more excited.
They are set to perform at this summer’s ArcTanGent Festival, one of the UK’s premier math rock and post-rock festivals, and there’s plenty of hope for more live dates to be announced soon. With their return to the stage, Adebisi Shank are poised to remind us all just how electrifying live music can be
