Reuniting once again with Grammy-winning producer Will Yip (Turnstile, La Dispute, Quicksand, Nothing), Paerish have sharpened their sound into something immediate, visceral and built for the stage. “Wait For Dark” captures the full intensity of Paerish’s live energy with driving rhythms, jagged riffs, and an emotional weight that refuses to let go.
Frontman Mathias Court explains the track’s dark core:
Sometimes in life and at work, you come across people who make it quite clear that they don’t like you… ‘Wait For Dark’ is about a confrontation with one of these individuals, the search for a motive, and the bitterness and jealousy involved. The protagonist expresses exhaustion and anger, simply wanting to move forward and leave it behind.
Recorded during sessions in Philadelphia at Will Yip’s brand-new studio, including holiday stretches spent away from home, the track is part of a larger creative chapter that has seen Paerish and Yip refine a shared sonic language across multiple releases.
With their fourth album on the horizon, “Wait For Dark” is both a statement and a warning: Paerish are entering a heavier, more focused era.
