Heartfelt, hook-heavy, and unapologetically raw, Brighton’s H_ngm_n have carved out their own space in the UK emo scene. A tidal wave of sound forged by longtime friends Chris Childs and James Martin, the duo fuse jangly guitars, math-tinged melodies, and pounding drums into something both urgent and deeply personal.

Now, after five long years of silence, they’re back—kicking off 2025 with the gut-punching new single Reach Out. A song that digs into the feeling of drowning, bottling up emotions until they inevitably burst, it’s emo at its most cathartic. Recorded with Daly George (Creeper, Boston Manor, Burnt Tapes, Darko) at The Ranch in Southampton, this nostalgia-soaked anthem marks the start of a long-awaited comeback.

The track’s haunting music video—shot and edited by Shark Sauce Films—sees Chris and James adrift at sea, battling inner demons until they finally hit solid ground. A fitting visual for a song that refuses to sink.
