MACHINE HEAD announce new album UNATØNED and share first single UNBØUND

For over three decades, Robb Flynn has been the unwavering force behind Machine Head, the Bay Area metal institution that has carved its legacy through reinvention, defiance, and an unrelenting drive to evolve. Their eleventh studio album, UNATØNED, arrives on 25 April via Nuclear Blast Records, marking another chapter in the band’s ever-shifting sound.

Crafted on the move—hotel rooms, tour buses, and festival stops after an 11-year break from the global circuit—UNATØNED channels that restless energy into something honed and immediate. The first taste, “UNBØUND”, surges with the band’s signature intensity, a reminder that Machine Head refuses to stand still.

Recorded across multiple studios—including Flynn’s own Jam Room—UNATØNED was produced by Flynn and longtime collaborator Zack Ohren, with mixing and mastering handled by metal veterans Colin Richardson, Chris Clancy, and Ted Jensen. The exception: “LANDSCAPE ØF THØRNS”, mixed by Joel Wanasek alongside Ohren. The album artwork, once again entrusted to Seth Siro Anton, reflects the album’s sharp-edged aesthetic.

Eleven albums in, Machine Head remains as volatile and determined as ever—proof that momentum, more than nostalgia, keeps them moving forward.
