Hidden Mothers & Tayne join forces to create new track ‘Bitter Life’

Sheffield’s Hidden Mothers have teamed up with London-based experimentalists Tayne to rework Erosion / Avulsion standout “Violet Sun.” But this isn’t a remix—it’s a full-bodied reimagining. The result, titled “Bitter Life,” is a transformation so complete it earns its new identity.

With “Bitter Life,” both bands meet at a shared intersection: an embrace of intensity, a willingness to tread the line between fragile and feral. Hidden Mothers bring their dense emotional weight; Tayne fracture it, rearrange it, and stitch it back together into something no less devastating, but newly unrecognisable.

“A lot of Hidden Mothers’ music echoes the same mantra as ours” Tayne said in a statement. “Although there’s a difference between us, we both navigate this balance between delicacy and destruction. ‘Bitter Life’ has these fleeting moments of beauty that are harmoniously destroyed. For us, it’s a perfect meeting point.”

Hidden Mothers echoed the sentiment, praising Tayne’s ability to see their work through an entirely different lens. “We’re very interested in how music can be interpreted in different ways by different people,” they said. “It’s been incredibly impressive watching Tayne deconstruct ‘Violet Sun’ and filter it through their perspective. We couldn’t have imagined how it would turn out—but we’re very happy it turned out like this.”
