As ArcTanGent makes its way back to the iconic Fernhill Farm, we’re getting ready for another epic weekend packed with crushing riffs, wild energy, and boundary-pushing experimental music from across the globe. Ahead of the festival we caught up with Snooze and Hundred Year Old Man to have a quick chat about what fans can expect from their sets, their plans for the remainder of the year and their festival essentials.
SNOOZE play the Bixler on Thursday 14th August 2025
HYOM play the Yokhai on Wednesday 13th August 2025

- What are you most excited for at ArcTanGent?
Snooze: We’re most excited about meeting all these cool bands, all the cool people, talk about music, just completely nerd out. This was honestly a bucket list (and more of a pipedream) festival to play since its inception and when we were all much younger so this is so exciting.
HYOM: coming back for the Wednesday is a huge honour. We all attend regularly anyway so to get the opportunity to play again is great. Bunnyman’s is back too so expect to see us with bread bowls in hand after our set.
- What can people expect from your set?
Snooze: For our set, it’ll be extra special since it’ll be one of the first times ever playing our single “Without” live – it’s about a dream I had about our late bass player in which he was alive, so it’s obviously very hard to sing without tearing up, but we’ve been running it so we can play it for Arctangent. Otherwise, we’re playing a bunch of songs from our new album, and a couple old ones! Should be a great time!
HYOM: Post-metal soundscapes and riffs. Songs from across our releases for old and new fans alike. If you’re not awake by 14:10 on Wednesday we aim to help with that.
- Which bands are you most excited to see over the weekend?
Snooze: This weekend I’m excited to see our friends in Meth, one of the BTBAM sets, Frontierer is fucking insane, I truly cannot believe we’re playing the same day as Godspeed
Sungazer and Rezn are also favorites of mine and we’re on the same stage as them, we’re actually doing a show with tangled hair the day before our ATG set but I’m excited to see them as well. Car bomb as well, god it’s all gonna be so sick
HYOM: This ranges, but Callous Daoboys, Clowncore, John Cxnnor’s rave set, envy, Pelican, Year Of No Light; what were not looking forward to is having to choose from some of the clashes.
- Are there any upcoming bands from your area that people should be checking out?
Snooze: In terms of bands from our area, there’s a bunch people should check out – Imeldamarcos and Disperser are two incredible chicago mathy noisey power duos, our buds in Inoculous are super melodic mathrock earworm realness, my friends band Dog Guitar is relentlessly catchy and silly with a live element that you have to see to experience, our buds in Latter are fucking sick as well – theres so much happening in Chicago I could go on all day! And so many bands that are just outside chicago too, it’s a great place to be a weird band.
HYOM: If you’re at ATG you’ll want to catch Codespeaker, The Grey, Healthyliving, Wren and Underdark (if you consider any of those giants to be upcoming)
- What are your plans for the rest of the year?
Snooze: The rest of the year we’re working on our next release mostly, no more big runs for us, but we’ll be hitting 2026 hard with hopefully a new release and some big tours.
HYOM: We’re playing Abyssal Festival in Southampton, 27th September with pals in Mastiff; and HelveFest in Leeds, 25th October. Past that, we’re tucked away writing for album 3
- What are your festival essentials?
Snooze: This is our first ever festival so we’re going to have to figure out what we need to bring! We’ll probably have a better list for essentials in the coming years haha
HYOM: Buckfast Tonic Wine and a good camping chair.
