This Friday night we welcome Bradford math-metallers Trigger Thumb to JT Soar for their long awaited return. The band vanished from the public eye for a few years but they are back in full force and ready to tear JT soar a new one along with support from the mighty Naisian and Mountainscape.
As always it’s an all ages show and it’s all accessible.

Trigger Thumb have been shaking the foundations of West Yorkshire’s underground scene since the early 2010s, crafting a sound that’s as complex as it is cathartic. Self-described as “a Bradford-based, three-piece noise generator – earplugs advised,” they deliver exactly that: a barrage of technical riffs, unpredictable rhythms, and emotionally charged vocals that blur the lines between math-rock, noise, and metal.
Formed around 2013, Trigger Thumb are made up of Arron Dulay (guitar and vocals), Damen Hughes (bass and backing vocals), and Will Long (drums and backing vocals). Together, they’ve built a reputation for tight, frenetic live performances that balance controlled chaos with precision musicianship. Whether supporting national acts or headlining hometown venues like Bradford’s 1 in 12 Club, they’ve become a band audiences remember for all the right reasons.
Musically, Trigger Thumb channel a wide spectrum of influences: from the spiraling energy of The Mars Volta and the aggression of The Dillinger Escape Plan, to the eccentric flair of Faith No More. But comparisons only go so far and the trio’s chemistry and distinct Northern grit make their sound unmistakably their own.
Don’t miss them when they make their return to Notts this Friday.
