Since 2012, Markus and Frank—legends of the underground from KURT, TEN VOLT SHOCK, and MAULGRUPPE—have poured decades of raw energy and creativity into their duo, YASS. With a sound that reimagines KRAFTWERK’s precision and hypnotic mechanical monotony through the lens of noise, distortion, and relentless rhythm, YASS delivers a visceral fusion of Post-Punk, Noise, Krautrock, and irresistibly pulsing synth loops. Now, YASS returns with their third LP, Feel Safe, set for release in June 2025 on Crazysane Records—a highly anticipated evolution of their unique sonic world.

Having toured Europe, the USA, Japan, and Australia since the ’90s, Markus Brengartner and Frank Otto are no strangers to pushing boundaries. Between 2018 and 2023, they collaborated with Jens Rachut on the project MAULGRUPPE, crafting two critically acclaimed albums released on Major Label. Now, YASS is ready to unleash their third LP, an exciting next step in their ever-evolving musical journey.

YASS has forged a sound entirely their own by blending samplers, loopers, intricate sound and vocal effects, and an array of plugins. Their songwriting process begins at home, where they design complex soundscapes on their computers before transforming these digital blueprints into dynamic live performances. The result is an exhilarating, one-of-a-kind experience, marked by an electric energy and razor-sharp precision.

Operating independently and non-commercially since the late ’90s, YASS is deeply embedded in a global network of like-minded artists. With over 10 record releases under their belt, the duo has released three albums to date on the cult label X-Mist Records.
