After a four-year hiatus, YOUTH CODE—the dynamic duo of multi-instrumentalists Sara Taylor and Ryan George—are set to return with a vengeance, delivering their long-awaited EP Yours, With Malice on 16th May 2025, the EP promises to be an explosive return to form.

The first taste of the record comes today in the form of “No Consequence” a blistering opener that arrives alongside a visually intense performance video directed by Stephen Lentini. The video portrays the band’s sound as a juggernaut, barreling forward like a weaponised bulldozer. With a thundering combination of sub-bass, bone-crushing snares, searing hi-hats, and rattling kicks, Yours, With Malice immediately demands attention. Sanford Parker’s punishing mix ensures the record hits with relentless force, yet there’s an underlying sense of melody that ties each track together, pulling listeners into an unshakable loop.

The journey to Yours, With Malice has not been without its challenges. Like many, the band was forced to face the introspective chaos of the pandemic. However, Ryan George reveals that their period of reflection began before the world was thrown into lockdown: “I think a lot of people’s stories during the pandemic were about self-reflection, but the ironic thing is we were already in a state of reemergence and re-imagination of self before the rest of the world was forced to do it,” says Ryan George. “We took time and began to workshop and demo vocals on some of the material we had. We never stop writing and are sitting on a mountain of tracks that we can rework and tweak. Not having deadlines surrounding us and in no hurry to get our material out there, all of a sudden the partnership with Sumerian arrived. That sort of ignited a fire and got us to where we are now.”.”

This period of self-reflection and experimentation has clearly paid off. Yours, With Malice is YOUTH CODE’s most refined and visceral release to date, an EP that combines their trademark industrial intensity with a more nuanced and sophisticated approach to songwriting. It marks their first release under Sumerian Records and signals a bold new chapter for the duo.

Get ready to dive into the chaos—Yours, With Malice is coming, and it’s sure to leave a mark.
